The Warp & Weft Mitts

The Warp & Weft Mitts is a collaboration between independent knitwear designer Claire Walls aka Flossi and Tangled Yarn. We set Claire the challenge of turning a skein of Nurturing Fibres Supertwist Sock into something beautiful and functional, she didn't let us down and came up with the most beautiful fingerless gloves.

As the name suggests these fun mitts are reminiscent of woven fabric, the pattern looks complicated but its just knit, purl and slip stitches and what's more they are completely reversible. 

Warp & Weft Mitts - short version

Nurturing Fibres Supertwist Sock is the ideal knitting yarn for Warp & Weft, it's a high twist merino wool which is ethically sourced and hand-dyed in South Africa. We stock 30 colours which include soft chalky pastels, vintage tones and jewel-like colours; our sample is shown in the colour Sea Glass.

The increased thumb gusset makes sure you get the perfect fit and the pattern has been created so you can make them as long as you like!

Warp & Weft are worked in the round on dpn’s or you could use a longer circular needle and use magic loop. If you've not knit in the round before this is a great project to start with.

One skein of Supertwist Sock is enough to knit two pairs of the short mitts, so you can keep a pair for yourself and make a pair for a friend. For the longer version, one skein is also enough.
