  • Heart on my Sleeve

    February 14, 2017 2 min read 0 Comments

Today is Valentine's Day, a day traditionally set aside for sharing "the love" and what better way to share the love than showing those in need that they are not forgotten. A bunch of knitting designers have got together, coordinated by Emily and Alexa of Tin Can Knits and come up with eight sweater designs which they have put together in an e-book called Heart on my Sleeve: Knit with Care.

Wholehearted & Ironheart | Heart on my Sleeve

Heart on my Sleeve features knitting patterns from Joji Locatelli, Ysolda Teague, Bristol Ivy, Tanis Lavallee, Romi Hill, Jane Richmond, Shannon Cook, and Tin Can Knits!

Heartstring & Lionheart | Heart on my Sleeve

Each designer has generously donated a pattern, and 100% of proceeds will go to the Against Malaria Foundation, to purchase bed nets which prevent malaria. Malaria is a major killer of little kids (70% who die are under 5) and pregnant women (it’s the world's single largest killer of pregnant women), and malaria is PREVENTABLE. A long-lasting insecticidal net costs $2.50 USD, so each ebook sold will protect multiple families. Your purchase will make a real difference to the life of another family – you could save a child, or a mother, all from the comfort of your favourite knitting chair. Learn more about Malaria and how a few dollars can really help, here.
