    March 05, 2018 4 min read 0 Comments

A couple of weeks ago in our blog we shared with you the arrival of Andorra from Kelbourne Woollens.

Kelbourne Woolens has launched the Andorra Collection, six knitting patterns to support their sport weight yarn, Andorra.

This collection of knitting patterns has something to appeal to all levels of knitters from the beginner to the more advanced knitter. Each pattern is supported with blog posts covering techniques that you might not have tried before which will add and expand your knitting knowledge and make the process of completing your knitting project more enjoyable.

    BERNADETTE
    by Kate Gagnon Osborn

    Bernadette | Andorra Collection

A cosy texture turtleneck sweater, Bernadette features a classic waffle stitch. Knit in pieces from the bottom up, short rows are used to add shape to the shoulder seams, this is a great skill to master. The stitches are then picked up to work a deep ribbed turtleneck. And finally, mattress stitch is used to seam your sweater which will give it a professional finish.

    DELIA
    by Kate Gagnon Osborn

    Delia by Kate Gagnon Osborn

Gorgeous textured stitches are highlighted by the slight mohair halo of Andorra in the delicate cables and seed stitch used in Delia which is topped off with a pom pom. The project begins with a provisional cast on and is knit on a smaller needle to create a firm gauge for extra warmth, this also helps to give this hat more structure. And if you are not a fan of cable needles then there's a great tutorial for knitting cables without a cable knit.

    EVANGELINA
    by Meghan Kelly

    Evangelina by Meghan Kelly

With a classic triangular shaped shawl like Evangelina, a few stitches are initially cast on using a garter tab cast on, increases are then worked to add shape to the shawl. In this pattern, the lace is worked on both sides and is charted, but don’t let this deter you Kelbourne Woolens have a great tutorial for following charts. The contrast colour border consists of alternating garter and eyelet rows, provides weight and balance to the shawl. Finally, the edge is finishing with a picot bind off.
