  • A New Room with a View

    June 05, 2015 2 min read 0 Comments

This weekend marks our four year anniversary, we opened our virtual doors on June 7th 2011. Life became in the smallest workspace at home, just 2 metres square so I had to be very selective in what yarns to offer; stocking only those that I knew you were going to love such as Malabrigo Yarns, Shilasdair Yarns and Orkney Angora.

I was so excited when our first order came in and more so when it was closely followed by another and then another! We are a small business but with big ideas when it come to providing the best possible customer service. Every order is lovingly wrapped by me and that's what I want to continue to do, so I have no plans to grow too big!

As you'd imagine we quickly outgrew our workspace and recently moved into a purpose built studio. I'm still working at home because it's important to me to be at here when my kids come home from school.

my new view; that's Slipper our bunny out in her run.

I handpick yarns to stock that are really worth their salt as space is still limited. Rosy Green Wool is one such yarn that I knew would be wonderful to work with. We have both their sport-weight and aran weight as well as offering their limited edition yarns; Heb Merino Fine and Manx Merino Fine which are available seasonally.
We have a stockroom too which is packed to the rafters with wool from Debbie Bliss, MillaMia, Rooster Yarns and Libby Summers. This is also where I wind each order that comes in for Mabel & Ivy Coast and Supersoft. We can carry more colours of both bases because we store them on the cone.

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to do my job each day. I've made some amazing friends in the knitting world through social media groups like Ravelry and Facebook. It's great seeing what customers have made so do keep me posted on Instagram by using the hashtag #tangledyarnuk
