  • New Treats from MillaMia

    October 28, 2014 3 min read 0 Comments

Add a little zing and pop to your autumn knitting with MillaMia's new limited edition colours in Naturally Soft Merino; Pumpkin and Teal. They are opposites on the colour wheel so compliment one another beautifully if used together. They work great too by themselves or with the existing shades from MillaMia's colour palette.

MillaMia have revised their pattern collection Flight of Fancy to incorporate these new shades of Naturally Soft Merino. Here are just a few of my favourites from the collection along with yarn quantities and alternative colourway suggestions.

    Larissa

Larissa is perhaps my favourite pattern from Flight of Fancy. The orange of the Pumpkin real pops against the natural shade of Midnight and is perfectly balanced with the addition of Forget Me Not.

      32" 34" 36" 38" 40" 42" 44"
    Pumpkin 3 3 4 4 5 5 5
    Forget Me Not 4 4 4 4 4 5 5
    Midnight 2 2 2 2 3 3 3

You will also need 3mm and 3.25mm straight needles, plus a 3mm circular needle.

Alternative colourways Grass, Snow and Midnight or Sable, Forget Me Not and Midnight or Teal, Snow and Fuchsia.

    Vanessa Cardigan

Vanessa Cardigan is knit in stocking stitch and edged in moss stitch, it would make a great project for a newbie knitter whose looking to knit their first cardigan. A single button makes this an easy to wear cardigan.

    32" 34" 36" 38" 40" 42"  44"
    Teal 9 10 10 11 11 12 12
    Claret 3 3 4 4 4 5 5

You'll also need 3mm and 3.25mm straight knitting needles.

Alternative colourways try Plum and Berry, Sable and Forget Me Not, Midnight and Pumpkin or Snow and Pitch Black.

    Vanessa Cable Cardigan

This cabled version of Vanessa has a repeating chevron cable pattern which once mastered is fairly easy to remember and is edged in moss stitch in either a contrasting colour as shown here in Midnight and Pumpkin or if you fancy playing it save Vanessa also looks great knitted up in one colour. The sleeves and back of the cardigan are knit in stocking stitch making this an overall interesting knit.

    Two Colour Version

      32" 34" 36" 38" 40" 42" 44"
    Midnight 5 6 6 7 7 7 7
    Pumpkin 8 9 9 10 10 11 11

    Single Colour Version

    32" 34" 36" 38" 40" 42"  44"
    Teal 13 15 15 16 17 18 18

You'll also need 3mm and 3.25mm in both straight knitting needles and circular needles.

Alternative colourways Teal and Claret, Forget Me Not and Storm or Plum and Berry. Looks great too knitted up in one colour!

    Vanessa Cowl

Vanessa Cowl is a great way to add an injection of colour into your autumn wardrobe. This super snug cowl is knit in two parts with a chevron cable pattern on the outside in one colour and then with your second colour the lining is added by picking up the stitches from the selvedge edge and continuing in stocking stitch.

    Midnight

    2
    Pumpkin 2

You will also need a pair of 3.25mm straight knitting needles and a circular needle of the same size.

    Alternative colourways Teal and Fuschia.
